Sea Power Naval Combat in the Missile Age

Currently Playing: EP.15 The Final Battle — Hunting the Kiev Carrier Group | Sea Power

The Pacific Strike campaign comes to an end with Vengeance at Luzon, as Task Group 77.3 is sent northwest from Palawan to intercept a Soviet Kiev carrier group and a reinforcement convoy before they can reach the fighting ashore. With heavy weather limiting air operations, we conduct a major air-surface sweep across the South China Sea, hunting down the Kiev and its escorts while enemy bombers, submarines, and surface forces attempt to stop us. By the end of the battle, the Soviet force has been devastated: Kiev, a Kara-class cruiser, Udaloy-class destroyer, multiple submarines, the reinforcement convoy, and enemy aircraft are destroyed — with Task Group 77.3 suffering no losses. This is the final mission of our Pacific Strike Task Force Mode campaign in Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age, bringing the long deployment of Task Group 77.3 to a decisive conclusion.
