Currently Playing: Via Stitching Explained: When Your PCB Actually Needs It

Altium Develop keeps your stackup, copper pours, and via rules visible to the whole team from schematic to fabrication, so ground continuity gets checked before the board is built: https://www.altium.com/develop?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=altium-academy-shorts&utm_content=via-stitching-explained-when-your-pcb-actually-needs-it Via stitching is one of the most misused tools in PCB layout, and Zach Peterson breaks down the three cases where it actually matters. Stitching vias are most often used to tie ground copper pours on multiple layers to the same net, but they are just as important while routing, where they maintain ground continuity for lower-speed digital signals. For higher-speed signals like differential pairs, and in RF design where a single-ended net has to change layers, stitching vias are critical and also where designers most often get into trouble. If you are deciding where to place a via array, this clip gives you the rule of thumb in under a minute. ▶ Watch the full video: https://youtu.be/TtSnG-Tl8yM 💡 Watch Next: - Stitching Via Deep Dive | PCB Layout: https://youtu.be/TtSnG-Tl8yM - Stitching Vias: High-Speed & RF Impedance Design: https://youtube.com/shorts/Ltt35OPnpJU - To Pour or Not To Pour | Copper Pour in PCB Design: https://youtu.be/R3w4Go1s1hM - Types of PCB Grounding Explained | PCB Layout: https://youtu.be/19WnYPhNOH0 - How to Use Via Shielding and Stitching Tools in Altium Designer: https://youtu.be/DFfaZ_Bp4GY 💡 Stay Connected: Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more in-depth tutorials and tips from @AltiumAcademy Share your thoughts and questions in the comments below! 👉 Subscribe for more: https://www.youtube.com/@AltiumAcademy?sub_confirmation=1 Don't forget to follow us on social to stay up-to-date on the latest Altium Academy content. 👉 Follow Altium on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@altiumdesigner 👉 Follow Altium on Twitter: https://twitter.com/altium 👉 Follow Altium on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/altium/ 👉 Follow Altium on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AltiumOfficial/ The Altium Academy is an online experience created to bring modern education to PCB Designers and Engineers all across the world.
