Genesis has arrived in this chronology, but neither we nor Sega are done with Master System just yet. Oh no. We still have a third of the console's library left to cover! We begin the final stretch here with a pair of arcade conversions: Data East's Captain Silver and Seibu Kaihatsu's Dead Angle. Are they great conversions? No! But the arcade originals weren't really much to write home about, either. So perhaps Sega chose wisely in bringing them to Master System rather than Genesis for home versions that were just good enough rather than firehose-blasting these adaptations with overkill power. Sega certainly could have produced more arcade-accurate console ports on the 16-bit hardware. But did they really need to? I would argue no. ------------------------------ Please support this documentation project through Patreon (www.patreon.com/gamespite ), by picking up some of the related books (www.limitedrungames.com/collections/books ), or by buying a dumb T-shirt (https://jeremyparish.dashery.com ). ------------------------------ Metroidvania: The First Decade is available now at fine book chains and comic shops, such as B&N (https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-history-of-metroidvania-jeremy-parish/1148489848 or https://www.amazon.com/History-Metroidvania-Decade-One-1980-1990/dp/1506754546/ ).
