We'll be getting back to the last of Turbo Works 1989 next week. I'm switching the order up slightly because, in a strange cosmic coincidence, I happened to produce a game about the unlicensed NES Road Runner cartridge that landed right at the same time as the theatrical release of Coyote Vs. Acme. This was not planned, but by god, I'm taking advantage of the circumstances. This is the final set of Tengen releases for 1989. It is also the final set of good unlicensed games for 1989. Road Runner on NES lacks the visual style and fluidity of the arcade game, but it captures the overall style pretty effectively. And Toobin' is surprisingly good, even if it lacks the intended cooperative play of the original coin-op. Good stuff, all in all!
