Sports gaming arrives on TurboGrafx-16 this week with a pair of titles that embrace the planet: World Class Baseball and World Court Tennis. Hudson's take on baseball won't surprise anyone who survived the 8-bit baseball days, though it does bear a curious resemblance to Tommy Lasorda Baseball for Genesis—they're similar to the point that it makes you wonder a bit. World Court Tennis, on the other hand, presents something far less typical. Sure, on its surface, Namco's take on the sport looks like little more than a really good adaptation of tennis. But there's an unconventional menu option called "Quest" that launches you into a full-on role-playing game where the random battles take the form of tennis matches. It's strange, but also very much of its time.
