Currently Playing: Might as well Gump: Super Xevious - GAMP no Nazo | NES Works Gaiden 84

I can walk the walk as well as talk the talk. Super Xevious for Famicom was the first proper sequel to Xevious, unlike the arcade Super Xevious which simply remixed elements of the 1982 original to make it harder and more demanding. The home game, on the other hand, took a radically different approach to the combat sandbox, pulling inspiration from its holy sibling The Tower of Druaga. An understandable impulse! However, the results were, shall we say, mixed, and Xevious fans largely reject this entry for missing the point of the arcade hit. It's not a bad game, but the structure and arcane requirements for progression definitely do land off the mark. ------------------------------ Please support this documentation project through Patreon (www.patreon.com/gamespite ), by picking up some of the related books (www.limitedrungames.com/collections/books ), or by buying a dumb T-shirt (https://jeremyparish.dashery.com ). ------------------------------ Metroidvania: The First Decade is available now at fine book chains and comic shops, such as B&N (https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-history-of-metroidvania-jeremy-parish/1148489848 or https://www.amazon.com/History-Metroidvania-Decade-One-1980-1990/dp/1506754546/ ).
