Originally, this effect could only rotate horizontally depending on how it was placed in the scene. This time, instead of manually digging back through the older written code and rebuilding the logic by hand, I used Claude Opus 4.6 to help add proper 3D rotation support. The result is a much more flexible black hole shader that can now rotate correctly in 3D space, making it far more usable in different scene setups. This is also a practical example of how AI can actually help with real production tasks inside game development and shader workflows, especially when revisiting older projects and systems. The project is available for free, so you can try it yourself and explore the setup inside Unreal Engine 5.
