When life shakes you awake. Where can Spanda be found? Not only in meditation, silence, or monasteries, but in the midst of life itself. This verse points to surprising moments. Intense anger. Overwhelming joy. Sudden shock. A moment of urgency when life demands your complete attention. In these moments something unusual happens. The ordinary chain of thought is interrupted. A gap appears. And through that gap, Spanda may be recognized. The verse is not glorifying anger or recommending emotional excess. In an intense moment, the mind is briefly stripped of its usual patterns, and the underlying source becomes easier to notice. The ordinary person misses these moments and returns to the story. The wave is noticed, the ocean is missed. The yogi stays alert and uses them as doorways. Joy becomes a doorway. Anger becomes a doorway. Even confusion becomes a doorway back to the source. This is Spanda Karika Verse 22.
