English Translation: O Lord, how can anyone who is under your protection suffer pain? Those intoxicated with the wine of maya do not know how to remember God’s Nam and do not think of their death. You belong to the Saints, O my sovereign Lord, and the Saints belong to you. Your devotee has nothing to fear, for the messenger of death cannot get near him. The pain of birth and death flees from those, O Lord, who are dyed in your love. That no one can erase your blessings, O Lord, is the assurance that comes from the Satguru. Those who meditate on your Nam receive the fruit of peace and contemplate on you day and night. Under your protection and with faith in you, they overcome the five demons. Lacking knowledge, contemplation and good deeds, O Lord, I do not realize your magnitude. Supreme above all is the Satguru, O Nanak, who has upheld my honour in the divine court.
