English Translation: No one in this world is your well-wisher; whomever you love becomes your enemy, O Paltu. Says Paltu: Obtaining a human birth, the fool does not meditate on the Lord. Nothing accompanies anyone after death – be it children, spouse, mansions, or wealth. Dhanvantari, the physician, has also departed. O Paltu, no one is immortal; deities, humans, ascetics, yogis, or virtuous ones – all are in Kal's dominion. Your departure will be at any moment, O Paltu – why do you waste your time? If you do not avail yourself of this chance, you will continue to wander in the cycle of transmigration. Marching drums have sounded the departure yet not one camel has been loaded. O Paltu, the summons has arrived; even the body will be left behind. Forget about the time that has passed. Wake up, O fool, at least now remember the Lord! Says Paltu, the humble servant: Inculcate love for the Lord in your heart. O Paltu, being blessed with a human body, you did not remember the Lord. Yama will tie you and take you to hell. Saints proclaim it again and again. Your human birth goes in vain, O Paltu – this fortunate and truly blessed form. Devote yourself to the service of the saints and contemplate on the Lord.
