English Translation: Bow your head to the One to whom the two worlds bow, at whose door even stones turn to molten wax. I searched the whole world far and wide, but no face is as beautiful as Yours. Beloved, I sacrifice my life for your beautiful face. I made an exhaustive search of the entire world and found no one like You. Your eyes have humbled kings before You. Wise and good people lose their wisdom before You. Save us, the mad lovers, from advice. Leaving the path of the Beloved, paradise holds no appeal for me. Even if You visit my grave after a hundred years, my bones will rise and pay obeisance to You. As long as the angel of death does not call back my soul, I wish to continue to behold Your beautiful face. The day I die, I will be taken for burial. Put me in a pitcher to bury me in the tavern. Carrying Hafiz, you happily go with the bier. He was a sinner yet has reached the highest realms. Truthfulness, patience, and righteousness have shown their true colours. It is my good fortune that the murshid has taken me across. Collect the treasure of immortality that you can take with you. Measuring the quantity of silver and gold is a job for others! It is immaterial if you do not have wealth, Hafiz – be thankful. What treasures are sweeter than kind words? This shabad is published by Radha Soami Satsang Beas.
