English Translation: As I have tied my hopes to your lotus feet, O Lord, the helpless messengers of death have run away. It is by your grace, O Lord, that one remembers you, and through simran of your Nam all one’s maladies are destroyed. The messenger of death inflicts great pain on others, but your devotee is out of his reach. As my mind grows thirsty for your darshan, it becomes absorbed in the bliss of sahaj and is detached from the world. Listen to Nanak’s prayer, O Lord – instil your Nam alone in his heart.
