“Breathe” is a sorrowful rock lament for Angron, Primarch of the World Eaters. This song follows Angron through the tragedy of what he was, what was taken from him, and what he became. Before the Butcher’s Nails, before the Emperor, before Lorgar, before Khorne, there was a gladiator who had brothers and sisters, red sand beneath him, and one brief place where he belonged. This is not Angron asking for forgiveness. It is Angron looking at the man he might have been — the empath, the brother, the liberator — and knowing that the Nails, the Emperor’s intervention, Lorgar’s faith, and the machinery of war left him no clean way back. He remembers mercy, but he cannot keep it. He remembers love, but breaks what he loves just to hear himself breathe.
