Hello friends! Do you remember the zwartbles I spun during Tour de Fleece 2023? One of those sheep, Vic, has sadly passed away this year. He succumbed to the bluetongue virus that has made many victims in Belgium and the Netherlands. Vic was a pet sheep, so a beloved pet for his owners. Today I am spinning some of his wool into yarn as a keepsake for his owner, some skeins of yarn to remember him by. I will card the wool on my drumcarder and then spin the batts in a woolen manner, a long draw spin. This because the zwartbles fleece is so springy and bouncy, and a woolen spin long draw drafting will do it the most justice, I think.
