Currently Playing: I spin my yarn backwards. But why?

Hello friends! I spin opposite to what most of you might be used to or what most of you might have learned. Why? Because I am an Eastern Uncrossed knitter and it is said that regularly spun yarn will untwist itself when I work with it. But why would I take anything for granted if I can do some fiber experiments instead? So in this video I'm spinning two exactly mirrored yarns: on with Z twist singles and S ply (what you would call a yarn for knitting) and one with S twist singles and Z ply (so then a yarn for crochet). I will knit swatches with both to see if the twist direction of my yarn has any effect on the finished knit object. I will also unravel some of my knitting to see if the twist angle of the yarn has changed during knitting.
