3 Lessons From Surah Al-Kahf That Will Change Your Life || Hisham Abu Yusuf . Seven young men fled to a cave to protect their faith. They slept for many years. The central lesson is what matters. We focus on the whip while buying the bull – small details over the main point. In Salah, we debate hand placement but neglect khushu (the heart of Salah). 1. The First Lesson: Attachment to the Quran: The word "tilawah" means to follow, not just recite. The People of the Cave survived because they followed the revelation. We cannot just put the Quran on the shelf – our children need to understand its meaning. Especially from age 7 onward, we must teach them the stories and messages of the Quran. 2. The Second Lesson: Choosing the Right Company: Allah says: "Patiently keep yourself with those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face." (Surah Al-Kahf, 18:28). Do not look away from them. Be intentional about finding friends whose only goal is to see the face of Allah. Send out a search party. Stay away from those who are distracted from Allah's remembrance. 3. The Third Lesson: Allah is Al-Wali – The Hidden Protector: When you have no helpers, no protectors, and you are alone – turn to Al-Wali. Yusuf (AS) in the well, Musa (AS) fleeing in the desert – they didn't see Allah's plan unfolding, but He was protecting them. If you commit yourself to Allah and try to be righteous, you will have a special force field around you. A lorry will miss your car. Redundancy will skip you. Allah's protection is silent and powerful. - The Call to Action: Build the Cave: In the south of Manchester, there are 70,000 young Muslims. Where is their cave? We need Islamic schools, masajid, and institutions to protect them. Nobody else will build them. You have to say: "Ana laha" – I am for this. This lecture is a wake-up call.
