The Fastest Way To CHANGE Your Life (Islamic Way) || Hisham Abu Yusuf . Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) was once an alcoholic, a man with anger issues, who even ate his idol made of dates. 20 years later, he became the leader of a civilization stretching from east to west. What changed him? Did he do an MBA? Did he go to therapy? What was the secret? The secret was tawbah – sincere repentance. In this powerful lecture, Ustadh Hisham Abu Yusuf breaks down the four stages of repentance that can transform any person, any habit, any addiction. He compares the latest scientific models of behavioral change to the Islamic model of tawbah, showing that Islam had this framework centuries before modern psychology. He also exposes the tactics of Shaitan – justification, denial, complacency, and despair – that keep us from repenting and changing. In this video, you will learn: - The Four Stages of Tawbah (The 4 R's): 1. Regret: Realizing that what you are doing is wrong and harming you. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Regret is tawbah." 2. Resolve: Making a firm decision to stop. Not just "I'll try" – but a solid commitment. 3. Reset: Actually stopping the behavior. Not just planning – executing. 4. Redeem: If you wronged someone, you must return their rights. Repentance with Allah is not enough if you scammed someone or backbited them – you have to make it right. - Tawbah Is Obligatory: Allah commands: "O believers, repent to Allah with sincere repentance." (Surah At-Tahrim, 66:8). If you don't repent, you have two sins – the original sin and the sin of not repenting. - The Iblis Strategy: Justification: Iblis justified his disobedience by saying: "I am better than him." We do the same – we justify our sins with excuses: "It's just a little," "Everyone does it," "I had no choice." This is the first trap that stops you from repenting. - The Domino Effect of Sin: Shaitan doesn't aim for you to commit a major sin immediately. He starts with small sins, justifies them, and slowly knocks down dominos until you are completely broken. His ultimate goal is for you to disbelieve. - The Four Blocks to Tawbah: 1. Justification – making excuses for your sin. 2. Denial – refusing to acknowledge you did something wrong. 3. Complacency – getting too comfortable and not exercising your accountability. 4. Despair – thinking Allah will never forgive you (which is a form of disbelief). - The Secret of Istighfar After Good Deeds: Why does Allah command istighfar after finishing Hajj, after victory, after every Salah? Because when you complete a good deed, arrogance can creep in. Saying "Astaghfirullah" humbles you and reminds you that your deeds are never perfect. - The Magicians of Pharaoh Changed in 1 Minute: They came to fight Musa (AS) and destroy him. In one moment, they realized the truth, fell in sujood, and changed forever. Sincere tawbah can transform a person overnight – even the worst criminal. This lecture will change how you see repentance. It's not a checkbox – it's the constant polishing of your soul. Start today. Change your life.
