10 Days of Dhul Hijjah CHALLENGE (Build Habits & Change Your Life) | Hisham Abu Yusuf The Original Content is from: @hishamabuyusuf . "You have to tell me: what do you love the most in this dunya? Is it your money? Is it your time? Is it your smartphone? Whatever it is, sacrifice it for Allah in these 10 days, and watch your iman reach new heights." In this powerful and practical lecture, Ustadh Hisham Abu Yusuf re-frames Dhul Hijjah as the Islamic New Year – a time to reflect on the past 12 months and make a firm intention to change. He explains why these 10 days are actually greater than Ramadan in the sight of Allah (the best days vs. the best nights) and gives you a step-by-step plan to break your bad habits, build new ones, and experience the spiritual power of sacrifice – even if you are not going for Hajj. In this video, you will learn: - Dhul Hijjah is the End of the Islamic Year: It is the month to ask yourself: "Am I the same person I was last year?" If yes, you might have wasted a year. This is your chance to reset. - Sacred Months – Sins and Good Deeds Are Multiplied: Four months in which Allah magnifies both sins and rewards. Do not wrong yourself in these months. Even your greatest pastime (war for the Arabs) was abandoned. - Why These 10 Days Are Greater Than Ramadan: The greatest nights are the last 10 nights of Ramadan (when you stay up). The greatest days are the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah (when you fast, remember Allah, and sacrifice). Don't sleep on them. - The Hajj Mock Exam – A Practice for Judgment Day: Hajj is a rehearsal for Yawm al-Qiyamah. Standing at Arafah, sweating, begging Allah – this is exactly what we will do on that terrifying day. If you cannot go physically, go with your heart. - The Three Stages of Coming Close to Allah (The Symbols of Hajj): 1. Tawaf (Circling the Kaaba): Our lives revolve around Allah. He provides, we worship. 2. Sa’i (Running between Safa and Marwa): You must put in the effort, sweat, and run for Allah's sake. 3. Qurban (Sacrifice): The ultimate proof of closeness. Ibrahim (AS) was willing to sacrifice his son – the thing he waited approximately 100 years for. What are you willing to sacrifice? - Ibrahim's Dua Priorities: When he left his family in the desert, he did not first ask for food or water. He asked: "Make them people who pray Salah. Make people love them and come to live near them. Then give them provision." Your dua priorities should match – akhirah first, then dunya. - Practical Steps for These 10 Days: - Make a firm intention to change one habit (e.g., smoking, arguing, too much Minecraft/Roblox/Paw Patrol). - Sacrifice something you love for Allah – put your smartphone away for 10 days (swap SIM into a Nokia flip phone). - Make Dua in your own language (Urdu, Bangla, English, Cockney – Allah understands all). - Increase in Takbir (Allahu Akbar) – because when you complete something, you realize Allah is greater than it. - The Day of Arafah: The most important day of Hajj. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Hajj is Arafah." Spend it making Dua as if you are standing on that plain. The best Dua is the Dua of Arafah. This lecture will transform how you see Dhul Hijjah. Stop sleeping.
