Currently Playing: Airbags vs Stable Loads - why these failed

Truck airbags are probably the first upgrade folks consider when it comes to improving their truck suspension. Air springs should mostly be a tech of the past for improved payload and light weight truck suspension help. They have their place but the are rife with issues that we believe should make people think twice before ever installing them. There is still a place for airbags in suspension help. Don't get me wrong. But, they should be the secondary or even the last thing installed on your truck. Especially when hauling a truck camper. They put the weight in the wrong place on the chassis and can cause serious damage to the truck. It is not safe to run airbags over 40 psi. That means you have lifted the weight of the load in the truck bed off of the truck suspension and have put it all on the airbags. Not good. We custom build four season lightweight truck campers and overland truck bed setups here in Alaska and have been since 1971. We have seen many things over the years. We have even installed tons of airbag systems along with Torklift and fully endorse the Stable Load product over the airbags. Hands down. We hope you found this video helpful.
