The RV market is saturated with misconceptions on what is good and bad with construction. Some preach aluminum construction, others preach composite and some say wood. The truth is, that just about all of the construction methods rely heavily on wood. That is what we unpack in this video. We have been manufacturing truck campers and repairing RVs here in Alaska since 1971. That is more than 50 years of experiencing just about every construction method used on the market. Some are better than others. Some RV build methods have no business leaving the production facility let along even being paid for. While others are genuinely not too bad. In the case of the travel trailer by Jayco, it is actually fairly well built. If it weren't for improper sealant maintenance, this trailer would still be pretty good. It was constructed using an integration of aluminum and wood combined with each other. This can actually lead to some of the best and longest lasting camper builds out there. We still use wood in our truck camper manufacturing because it remains superior for our category. We also manufacture fully aluminum campers here at Cache Camper. Both methods can be great.
