In this video we do a quick tour of one of our cabover canopies that we have been building since 1971 on pickup trucks here in Alaska. Hunters, outdoorsman and construction workers like these because they have near full utility of their truck beds but also have a baseline camper. We build these topper/campers with heaters and full off grid electrical systems in them for the most part, but also just shells. DIYers love buying these and building them out themselves as their own unique truck camper build. These have become less common over the past few years simply because of the price point compared with our slide in truck campers, namely the Fishhook model. But they are still a great solution for those who have a particular set of needs and requirements for their truck. No two truck camper setups tend to be the same. Most folks have different requirements that they're putting on their trucks. Especially when it comes to suspension. There is a large set of opinions on airsprings/airbags vs Torklift stable loads or an additional leaf spring. The truth is, there is no such thing as "this is THE way to do it" when it comes to upgrading the truck suspension. We have seen and done many different things over the years to suspension and have first hand experience with many failures on the airbags. So, even though airbags can still be good, we recommend them as the last upgrade that should be done.
