What happens with water once it's in a tank in a truck camper or RV. We go over how this water tank molded, how it looks under this Bigfoot truck camper, and then contrast that without Fishhook Truck camper. We also discuss weight placement and center of gravity in both of these campers. We have been building custom truck campers here in Alaska since 1971. That's quite the track record. Over the years, so many of our custom truck campers have been designed and built without water systems at the direct request of our customers. It makes perfect sense. If you are doing short, two, or three possibly even four or five day trips, what are you using water for? Drinking water, the toilet? Well, both of those things can be carried separately without an integrated water system that is just going take permanent space and weight. Not to mention the winterization and the guaranteed mold or mildew inside the tank. We cannot tell you how many times we have been told, "We really don't use our shower. the water system is just for dishes and the toilet because we will never drink the water in the camper." That is why we encourage to just delete the water all together. It makes four season camping off the grid reality. because now, you have plenty of space for a larger battery bank than most campers and charged by the solar. Anyway, we could discuss water systems and mildew and poor water sources for campers all day. Its a fun topic with many important points to be made. We can leave those to another time with the focus on the main point which is, it is our opinion to always carry your drinking the water with you when camping and avoid drinking the water in your camper if at all possible.
