We love seeing how each different truck handles our Fishhook truck camper. This is a 2500 Ram Mega Cab and it is lifted with larger tires but the camper is only about 1750 pounds. He has a perfect off grid and four season setup. We build these campers here in Alaska. We developed the Fishhook model after several decades of manufacturing specialty custom truck campers here in our harsh state. We know what four season truly means. There are so many manufacturers missing the mark on true base line capability. Our Fishhook camper has an exceptional core electrical system which we see as the heart of any build. You can have an amazing 5-star energy rated house, lose power and in just a couple of days that house will freeze up. Refrigerators are also super well insulated. A solid electrical system that is properly wired is all too often missed by most companies. The other big thing that many truck camper manufacturers simply miss is what we call drivability. Much like a pilot refers to "flyability" with an airplane. Drivability is incredibly important to us. Where is the weight in the camper, commonly know as the center of gravity. It needs to be designed into the camper low, forward and centered side to side. That is what we have accomplished on the Fishhook specifically. It is not just about building a light weight truck camper. It is about many more things. Can you make a 1500 pound camper feel like 800 pounds?
