From @obxospreycam on July 24, 2026. Smokey fledges and returns home to the nest. Aged 57 days. Four parts here: First, in the nest, Bandit is doing some flapping. Smokey does some too, and then he is up up and away! Bandit watches and seems a bit stunned. Smokey, where was all the practice flapping, hopping, hovering, and helicoptering? He skipped all those and just did it. Next, we see Smokey lifting off from the perch cam view. Betsy watches as he goes off on a short tour. Next, from the PTZ cam, we see Betsy watching Smokey flying around the channel, then Smokey drops down for a landing. Finally, we see Smokey make a perfect touchdown on the nest. Bravo!!
