From @obxospreycam on March 9, 2026. An osprey that looks very much like Betsy appears on the nest. First we see an unknown female osprey; she is booted out by the lookalike, who then stays on the nest until a boat passes by. We did initially think was was our Betsy, but, when we got a good look at her right eye, she was missing Betsy's distinctive eye speckles. So we dubbed her UFO3 (unknown female osprey #3). Then she stayed and stayed, and fought off other female ospreys, and was accepted by Fredrick. She was named Eleanor (or Ellie). We continue waiting on our dear Betsy, but hopes are fading...
