Loam stands on ground that was once almost entirely concrete. The site had served for years as a construction base for a much larger OSF project below, leaving behind foundations, service roads, loading areas, and heavily compacted earth that could no longer support much life. After the surface complex was removed, Loam was built to restore what remained. Inside the tower, crushed concrete and recovered material are processed through vertical treatment levels, then combined with mineral soil, clay, organic matter, nutrients, and microbial cultures before being distributed beneath the surrounding field. Buried drainage channels slowly return natural water movement to the ground, while the smooth green cover protects the new soil as deeper root systems begin to form. A narrow wooden path keeps foot traffic from compacting the recovering surface. The methods developed here were later expanded at Contour (OSF-120), where similar soil, water, and nutrient systems were used to reshape an entire landscape. Very little of the original foundation remains visible now. From a distance, the field looks as though it had always been there. __________ Spotify • https://open.spotify.com/artist/6CUKjF2wMpVVLiHrKSshzE OSF: Subscribe • https://www.youtube.com/@OBSIDIANSOUNDFIELDS Contact • https://www.instagram.com/obsidian_soundfields/ ArtStation • https://www.artstation.com/obsidian_soundfields/store?tab=digital_product Fourthwall • https://obsidian-soundfields-shop.fourthwall.com/ Linktree • https://linktr.ee/OBSIDIANSOUNDFIELDS #ObsidianSoundfields #AmbientMusic
