Most of the surrounding structure is still made up of vast, repetitive halls, but scattered throughout them are individual Stems at very different stages of growth. Some remain little more than young saplings beside open corridors, while others have survived long enough to become massive trees. Once their presence was understood, younger Stems were deliberately protected. Construction was redirected, heavy traffic was kept away, and nearby rooms, stairs, and walkways were gradually rebuilt around them as they matured. The reason was never fully understood. People consistently reported that spaces near a Memory Stem were easier to navigate and remember, as though the surrounding architecture became less difficult to hold in the mind. Older Stems do not appear to produce a stronger effect, only to show how long the structure has been willing to accommodate them. Whether the trees create this stability or simply grow in places where it already exists remains unknown. Most halls are still empty. The Stems are simply the parts that were allowed to stay. __________ Spotify • https://open.spotify.com/artist/6CUKjF2wMpVVLiHrKSshzE OSF: Subscribe • https://www.youtube.com/@OBSIDIANSOUNDFIELDS Contact • https://www.instagram.com/obsidian_soundfields/ ArtStation • https://www.artstation.com/obsidian_soundfields/store?tab=digital_product Fourthwall • https://obsidian-soundfields-shop.fourthwall.com/ Linktree • https://linktr.ee/OBSIDIANSOUNDFIELDS #ObsidianSoundfields #AmbientMusic
