The hall seen here is only a mid sized observation chamber. Rows of woven basalt and silica membranes, each roughly 15 meters wide and up to 450 meters long, hang from concealed roller assemblies high above the ceiling. Their slow movement records pressure changes passing through the surrounding architecture. Narrow waterfalls appear every several hundred meters, falling hundreds of feet into shallow channels beneath the maintenance paths. Their precise vertical path provides a constant reference against which the movement of the membranes can be compared, while the collected water is continuously recirculated. Measurements from distant sections allow engineers to determine whether a disturbance belongs to one structure or is occurring across the wider OSF network. Most halls now operate without permanent crews. On rare occasions, however, separated sections have recorded identical pressure patterns beginning at exactly the same moment. No source has ever been identified. __________ OSF: Subscribe • https://www.youtube.com/@OBSIDIANSOUNDFIELDS Contact • https://www.instagram.com/obsidian_soundfields/ Spotify • https://open.spotify.com/artist/6CUKjF2wMpVVLiHrKSshzE ArtStation • https://www.artstation.com/obsidian_soundfields/store?tab=digital_product Fourthwall • https://obsidian-sound-fields-shop.fourthwall.com Linktree • https://linktr.ee/OBSIDIANSOUNDFIELDS Dark ambient liminal sci fi ambience with atmospheric sound design and immersive dreamscape visuals
