The structure sits low against the terrain, its presence defined by the way light bends and wavers across it as if refracted through deep water. During snowfall, the anomaly becomes visible as flakes halt mid-air within a wide radius, suspended in soft clusters before releasing all at once in silent bursts. Light passing through these frozen volumes fractures into slow, rippling bands that spill across the snow and into the facility’s interior, where illumination behaves as though submerged despite the absence of liquid or pressure. The purpose of Pelagia is depth simulation through arrested motion, using suspended matter and refracted light to impose the sensation of existing beneath an unseen surface.
