Different elevations support separate ecosystems, with some receiving constant rainfall and wildlife while others remain cold, dark, and nearly dry. OSF settlements were built around the trunks using relocatable rooms, adjustable supports, lift spines, bridges, and transit lines that could shift as the forest grew. The upward migration began after excavation teams followed the oldest roots beneath the lowest districts and broke into an immense open void. The roots continued downward beyond every mapped depth. In the generations that followed, the lowest settlements became increasingly difficult to inhabit, pushing entire communities higher. Over generations, altitude, oxygen, failing transit routes, and growing distances gradually separated the population. A small number of upper settlements still respond to OSF transmissions, but no complete population count remains. Far below, the oldest districts sit mostly empty while distant leaves and birds can still be heard above. __________ Spotify • https://open.spotify.com/artist/6CUKjF2wMpVVLiHrKSshzE OSF: Subscribe • https://www.youtube.com/@OBSIDIANSOUNDFIELDS Contact • https://www.instagram.com/obsidian_soundfields/ ArtStation • https://www.artstation.com/obsidian_soundfields/store?tab=digital_product Fourthwall • https://obsidian-soundfields-shop.fourthwall.com/ Linktree • https://linktr.ee/OBSIDIANSOUNDFIELDS #ObsidianSoundfields #AmbientMusic
