Zebra Finch Small Aviary: Chapter 7 Part 2 - Checke checke chuw A flock of zebra finches is eating together early in the morning. You can spot some of the young ones; their feather patterns are already starting to show, especially around their faces. They appear to be over a month old. They’ve left the nest box and can eat and fly on their own, though they could still use a bit more practice with their landings. Their diet these past few days has consisted of fresh greens—specifically curly green lettuce and mustard greens—along with both small and large mung bean sprouts. As for the seed mix, it is currently dominated by white millet—lots of it—with only small amounts of canary seed and other colored millets. We’re having trouble sourcing seeds right now, as stocks are depleted at many shops. If you’d like to watch the journey of these zebra finches over the past few months, please visit our channel.
