Zebra Finch Small Aviary: Chapter 4 Part 3 This morning, the zebra finches ate fresh vegetables, which they thought would be delicious. It's a kind of salad, I guess. It has corn, bean sprouts, Chinese cabbage, white cabbage, purple cabbage, carrots, curly lettuce, and a boiled egg too. It's like a salad, but in the Indonesian version. Hehehe. In Indonesia, when you eat vegetables like this, it's usually served with peanut sauce. We usually call it gado-gado. At the beginning of this video, you'll see a lot of zebra finches enjoying their vegetables. They're very busy around the vegetable tray, looking for whatever they like. Occasionally, they move to the grain tray and the light blue plastic container filled with water, then return to the vegetable tray to find more of their favorites. This time, we also fed the zebra finches white rice, which is of course cooked and edible for humans. This was the first time we tried feeding zebra finches white rice. We knew they could eat it, but we didn't know what it would be like. And after feeding these zebra finches cooked white rice several times, we've come to the conclusion that zebra finches are fine with white rice... just not every day. Maybe three or four times a week, and of course, there should be other foods, especially grains like millet and canary seed. White rice is fine if it only makes up 20% or 30% of their daily diet. Okay, that's it for part three of this video. We'll continue in part four. Thank you for watching these zebra finch videos.
