Zebra finch small aviary, chapter 2 part 1. Over the three weeks since the zebra finches were moved to this small aviary, they have begun building their nests, mating, and eventually laying eggs, some of which have already hatched. When this video was recorded, several zebra finch chicks were in the nest boxes. They were probably only a dozen days old. Their eyes were already open, although their bodies were not yet covered in feathers. Some zebra finches adapted quickly, while others were still unsure about which nest box to enter. We suspect there are many factors contributing to this. This time, the zebra finches were fed a mixture of seeds and vegetables. There were only small mung bean sprouts and a few fresh kangkong. They loved it. Zebra finches especially enjoyed the small mung bean sprouts. They even nibbled on kangkong leaves, even though they were three times their size.
