Puerto Rico Town By Town

Beginning in January of 2023, my wife Zoraida and I started visiting a different town in Puerto Rico every two weeks. That means that it will take us over 3 years to visit all 78 municipalities (taking into account unforeseen events such as climate and health issues. We started in the town of Carolina, going clockwise around the municipality of San Juan. Why didn't we cover San Juan (you might ask)? Because that's where Puerto Rico By GPS started, so we thought we could give it a rest and return in a near future as needed. As of June of 2025 we have covered 40 municipalities and the adventure continues.

Get Our Exclusive Guide: “10 MISTAKES FIRST-TIME PUERTO RICO VISITORS MAKE” here: https://accrm.com/s/4849 Today we visit the southeastern town of Humacao Puerto Rico; our 35th in our quest to explore all 78 municipalities on the Island. That puts us close to the midpoint of our Puerto Rico adventure. Most towns (including Humacao) have great places to visit, but nearly all show the shortsightedness and ineptitude of the Island’s central government, the severe effects of migration, climate change knawing away at our beaches, a virtual 20-year depression, hurricanes and earthquakes. Come to think of it, things could be worse, all things considered! My wife and I visited the town of Humacao on the morning of November 20th. The municipal workers were hard at work preparing Luis Muñoz Rivera Square for the Christmas season. Hence, our repeated attempts to get a decent shot of the church facade didn’t bear much fruit. We visited the beautiful “Dulce Nombre de Jesús” Co-cathedral, the “Ángel “Lito” Peña Plaza Art Center and attempted to visit the Pterocarpus Forest, Punta Santiago Beach, El Morillo, the Humacao Nature Preserve and a smaller Pterocarpus Forest inside the Palmas del Mar Gated Community. Fortunately, or unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) our mishaps will save future visitors a lot of grief. ================ VIDEO CHAPTERS 00:00 - Intro 00:31 - Bumper 01:38 - About Humacao 02:17 - How to get to Humacao 02:51 - First order of business 03:40 - Sweet Name Of Jesus Co-Cathedral 05:03 - Humacao state of affairs 06:27 - Ángel “Lito” Peña Plaza Art Center 08:14 - Humacao Nature Preserve 09:53 - Second Pterocarpus Forest And of course, as in all our videos, every attraction includes the GPS coordinates for your convenience. ======================== ORDER OUR TRAVEL BOOKS “The Old San Juan Walking Tour” A step-by-step guide around Old San Juan presenting the city’s most important attractions.
