Beginning in January of 2023, my wife Zoraida and I started visiting a different town in Puerto Rico every two weeks. That means that it will take us over 3 years to visit all 78 municipalities (taking into account unforeseen events such as climate and health issues. We started in the town of Carolina, going clockwise around the municipality of San Juan. Why didn't we cover San Juan (you might ask)? Because that's where Puerto Rico By GPS started, so we thought we could give it a rest and return in a near future as needed. As of June of 2025 we have covered 40 municipalities and the adventure continues.

Get Our Exclusive Guide: “10 MISTAKES FIRST-TIME PUERTO RICO VISITORS MAKE” here: https://accrm.com/s/4849 Tucked between Peñuelas, Yauco, and Adjuntas on Puerto Rico’s southern coast, Guayanilla is a small town with a big story. Founded in 1833, this coastal community is home to one of the island’s most beautiful natural harbors and hundreds of acres of mango plantations. Once thriving with activity, Guayanilla suffered severe damage during the 2020 earthquakes. But today it stands as a symbol of resilience and pride. Join us as we explore this quiet but fascinating destination — its charming town square, historic church, hardworking people, and scenic bay. At Puerto Rico By GPS, we visit every town — even those less known to tourists — because we believe independent travelers deserve the full story. Guayanilla may not have big resorts or flashy attractions, but it offers something better: authenticity, quiet charm, and the chance to see Puerto Rico’s resilience up close. Whether you’re exploring by car, drone, or camera, Guayanilla rewards those who go off the beaten path.
