Puerto Rico Town By Town

Beginning in January of 2023, my wife Zoraida and I started visiting a different town in Puerto Rico every two weeks. That means that it will take us over 3 years to visit all 78 municipalities (taking into account unforeseen events such as climate and health issues. We started in the town of Carolina, going clockwise around the municipality of San Juan. Why didn't we cover San Juan (you might ask)? Because that's where Puerto Rico By GPS started, so we thought we could give it a rest and return in a near future as needed. As of June of 2025 we have covered 40 municipalities and the adventure continues.

Get Our Exclusive Guide: “10 MISTAKES FIRST-TIME PUERTO RICO VISITORS MAKE” here: https://accrm.com/s/4849 At first glance, Yauco, Puerto Rico can feel quiet… maybe even a little underwhelming. When my wife and I arrived early in the morning, it almost looked like there wasn’t much to do. But as the day unfolded, we discovered that Yauco isn’t about one attraction. The real experience is the town itself. In this video, we explore the streets, history, architecture, and colorful hillsides that make Yauco one of the most unique towns in Puerto Rico. Our first stop was the impressive Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church, a massive Catholic temple built between 1931 and 1934. The church was designed by Puerto Rican architect Francisco Porrata Doria and features striking Moorish-style arches and beautiful stained glass. Unfortunately, when we arrived the doors were closed. After trying every entrance and even visiting the parish office, it seemed like we would never see the interior. But sometimes travel rewards persistence, and what happened the next day completely changed the story. After leaving the church, we explored the historic center of Yauco, including the renovated Fernando Pacheco y Matos Plaza. The square was rebuilt after the 2020 earthquakes and is now a peaceful place filled with trees, benches, and local history. Just across the street stands the famous Teatro Ideal, where legendary tango singer Carlos Gardel performed in 1935. Walking around town, you can also see elegant historic homes that hint at the wealth Yauco once had during its coffee and sugar boom. Finally, we headed up the hill to the famous Yaucromatic project, one of the most colorful art initiatives in Puerto Rico. What was once a neglected neighborhood is now a vibrant outdoor gallery filled with murals, bright houses, and incredible views of the town below. ================ VIDEO CHAPTERS 00:00 - Welcome to Yauco, Puerto Rico 00:51 - The Old San Juan Walking Tour & Puerto Rico Beach By Beach 01:42 - A few facts about Yauco 02:41 - Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church 06:15 - Fernando de Pacheco y Matos Public Square 06:30 - Who was Fernando de Pacheco y Matos? 06:49 - More about the Fernando Pacheco y Matos Public Square 07:08 - Teatro Ideal 07:34 - Towns and their architecture 08:18 - Yauco City Hall 08:34 - Who was Arturo Lluberas Rodríguez de la Seda 09:08 - Arturo Lluberas Rodríguez de la Seda Park 09:20 - Yaucromatic 10:52 - About I Love Combate Rooms & Suites 12:32 - About Combate Beach And of course, as in all our videos, every attraction includes the GPS coordinates for your convenience. ================= RELATED CONTENT Why I Do What I Do? — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jr0pHfFfMJM&t=66sæ La Vuelta Del Bobo”, A Traffic Jam That Puerto Ricans Actually Enjoy — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H434m-b9v7A&t=4s Does GPS Work In Puerto Rico?
