Beginning in January of 2023, my wife Zoraida and I started visiting a different town in Puerto Rico every two weeks. That means that it will take us over 3 years to visit all 78 municipalities (taking into account unforeseen events such as climate and health issues. We started in the town of Carolina, going clockwise around the municipality of San Juan. Why didn't we cover San Juan (you might ask)? Because that's where Puerto Rico By GPS started, so we thought we could give it a rest and return in a near future as needed. As of June of 2025 we have covered 40 municipalities and the adventure continues.

That’s not to say that everything else is insignificant. It’s just that they stand out for one thing more than the rest. In the case of Comerío it’s Puerto Rico’s folk music, or “la música jíbara” like we call it on the Island. But Comerío has a lot more going for it. Did you know that it was once Puerto Rico’s most important producer of tobacco? That’s right. They even one first prize on a worldwide competition. Comerío also sits next to La Plata River, the longest in Puerto Rico and also one of the mightiest. That makes for spectacular landscapes, lush vegetation and the ocasional flooding when mother nature gets angry. And then there’s the people. You couldn’t ask for a friendlier crowd. The “comerieños” were great! My wife and I felt right at home. So sit back, relax and enjoy this short presentation.
