A jury is to determine whether Lindsay Clancy is criminally responsible for killing her three children in 2023 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. The jury in Lindsay Clancy's murder trial deliberated for about 3 1/2 hours today before leaving for the night. They'll return to Judge William Sullivan's courtroom at 9 a.m. EST on Friday (August 28, day 10) to continue deliberating. "It's been a long day for everyone, and so what I'm going to do is excuse all of you till tomorrow morning, 9 o'clock." Many people in the comments on social media ask why the jurors aren't sequestered. I don't often see sequestered juries except in some Southern states such as South Califonria, where jurors will deliberiate into the night and be put in hotel rooms if they need to continue the next day. Judge Sullivan admonished jurors not to discuss the case or read anyhting about it. "I just want to, as you can imagine, want to reiterate those instructions. Now you are either deliberating jurors or alternates, possibly to deliberate. So I can't stress it even more than I have for the last five weeks." "Don't read anything about this case. Twelve are deliberating after Sullivan's clerk randomly selected six to be alternates. Clancy, who recently turned 36, is charged with three counts of murder for the strangulation deaths of 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan on Jan. 24, 2023, at their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. Jurors can consider manslaughter as a lesser included offense to murder. Her defense is that she's not guilty because she was psychotic due to postpartum problems and didn't know what she was doing.
