A jury is to determine whether Lindsay Clancy is criminally responsible for killing her three children in 2023 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. She was being treated for postpartum mental health issues when she killed the children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, who was 8 months old. Plymouth County Superior Court Judge William Sullivan is presiding over the jury trial, which began on July 27 and is expected to last six to eight weeks.

The jury in Lindsay Clancy’s trial will continue deliberating on Monday after leaving the courthouse about 4 p.m. EST today. Jurors began deliberating about 9:15 a.m. today (Friday, August 28) after deliberating 3 1/2 hours on Thursday. The nine women and three men have now deliberated for approximately 10 hours. They asked early today to see a knife that Clancy used when attempting to kill herself, as well as empty medication bottles found in her home after she strangled 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan on Jan. 24, 2023. The jury has not asked further questions. Judge William Sullivan spoke to them in court before they left for the weekend. “It’s been a long day for everybody, so I’m going to excuse everyone until Monday morning, 9 o’clock,” said Sullivan, who presides in Plymouth County Superior Court in Massachusetts. “You know what I’m going to tell you now. Alright? And it applies to everybody here. You have to be vigilant to follow those instructions. Don’t talk about this case. Don’t talk about the deliberations. Don’t listen to anything. Don’t read anything. And just put this out of your mind as best you can. And we’ll see everybody on Monday morning. Okay. Thank you,” Sullivan said. Clancy, who recently turned 36, was on maternity leave from her job as a labor and delivery nurse when she killed her children. She is charged with three counts of murder. Jurors can consider manslaughter as a lesser included offense to murder. The courtroom camera showed Clancy‘s mother and her mother‘s husband in the gallery as well as Paul Zeizel, a psychologist and friend of Reddington who testified as a defense witness.
