A jury is to determine whether Lindsay Clancy is criminally responsible for killing her three children in 2023 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. She was being treated for postpartum mental health issues when she killed the children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, who was 8 months old. Plymouth County Superior Court Judge William Sullivan is presiding over the jury trial, which began on July 27 and is expected to last six to eight weeks.

A psychologist who met with Lindsay Clancy after she killed her children testified today that she regularly speaks about them. Paul Zeizel said Clancy said "she really loves them and misses them and thinks of them every single day, almost every moment of the day." Defense attorney Kevin Reddington asked Zeizel about Clancy's comments about her children in re-direct exam to address cross-exam that he said implied "she never talks about her kids." Reddington also handed Zeizel a green object and asked, "Have you seen this before?" "Yes, I have," Zeizel answered. "In your dealing with Lindsay and interviews with collateral contacts such as Patrick, do you know what that is?" Reddington asked. "Yes, I do," Zeizel answered. "What is it?" Reddington asked. "It's called the Wish Vase," Zeizel answered. "And what does that mean, and what is it?" Reddington asked. "This is a vase that Miss Clancy and her husband purchased in Hawaii when they went on their honeymoon shortly after getting married," Zeizel answered. Judge William Sullivan allowed the vase as evidence over the objection of prosecutors. Reddington and Zeizel did not explain its relevance. In re-cross, Assistant District Attorney Shanan Buckingham tried to emphasize Zeizel's unusal interest in Clancy. "How many defendants that you've evaluated for criminal responsibility have you spent 35 hours evaluating?" she asked. "One other person," Zeizel answered. "How many other defendants have you evaluated that you've testified that you care deeply for them?" Buckingham asked. "I would say one other one," Zeizel answered. "And how many other defendants have you given press conferences about?" Buckingham asked. "None," Zeizel answered. "And how many other defendants that you've evaluated have you gone back every day until the lockup to check on?" Buckingham asked. "I was sequestered on all those other trials. I was not even allowed in the court," Zeizel answered. Buckingham also asked if he's aware that Clancy "continually refers to this situation as my tragedy, does she not?"
