However, this interpretation is incomplete without considering the wider context of the Quran. While the verse does emphasize individual accountability, other verses stress the importance of promoting justice, enjoining good, and forbidding evil, particularly when believers have the authority to act. Dr. Shabir clarifies that believers are obligated to share the right message and uphold moral principles. Once they have fulfilled this duty, they are no longer accountable for those who choose to go astray. Even the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was responsible for conveying the message, but not for compelling people to follow it.
