For me, training is a habit that I maintain no matter where I am. This isn’t sole tough guy act, I just genuinely feel better when I exercise and I have found that keeping the habit going is WAY better than letting it dissolve and restarting it when I’m back. Keeping some level of fitness not only feels great physically, but also mentally. My travel workouts are typically quick, unstructured, and very flexible, often just a single set (but I will do more if time allows), sometimes spread out over the day, and may include some exercises I might never do at home. I’m usually looking for a hotel gym or a park nearby, and if those aren’t available, I will travel with my gymnastic rings. My total time commitment may be as little as 5 minutes, but this is plenty for doing what I need it to do. This doesn’t interfere with my travel and it isn’t a distraction from relaxation or adventure; it’s just as much a part of my physiological hygiene as is brushing my teeth. Travel isn’t an obstacle. How you structure your travel training, or if you even want to include exercise when traveling is up to you, but this is how I do it.
