Firefly Season 1 Episode 11 REACTION | "Trash" | Syntell & Leo (Geekly Goods) Syntell and Leo react to Firefly Season 1, Episode 11 — "Trash" — and Leo is watching for the first time. Saffron is back. She has a new name, a new husband she just got thrown off a ship for, and one more job: steal the rarest weapon in the verse from one of the most trusting men on Bellerophon. The crew has every reason not to trust her. Mal says he'll be there the whole time. What Saffron doesn't account for is that this crew has been building something since she last tried to dismantle it. Inara quietly takes herself out of the plan. Simon and River have something to say to Jayne that doesn't fit on any mission briefing. When all of it lands, Mal is left standing on a rock with nothing but the result. Post-reaction: Syntell and Leo pick apart what makes Saffron one of the most compelling characters in the show — the con is always running, which means every genuine moment becomes suspect, which makes the genuine moments hit harder. Leo homes in on Durran: the man who knows exactly who she is and still can't stop himself, and what that says about her. They close on River — whether "better" is the right word for what's happening with her, and what her version of normal actually means for the people on that ship.
