Are you ready for a deep dive into the fabric of reality? This is what a question like “What is an Electron?” leads us to. And that because, you cannot just say it is a little particle carrying a negative charge or/and a probability wave floating around… Sure, you might attempt to observe an electron and depending on the way you look at it, you will see wither a little speck of matter or something behaving like a wave. The problem with this constatation is just this: it depends on the way you look at it How could that be? How could a system be two radically different things depending on how it is observed? There is definitely something subtle we are not getting here. This is what this video is about. Actually, it’s more of the first episode of a mini-series of video on the subject. In that video, I show why the electron is traditionally seen either like a particle or a wave. I will also present the well accepted De Broglie’s equation that mathematise this particle-wave duality. An equation so powerfully predictive that it became one of these concepts at the heart of quantum mechanics. But I will also show you how this view is biased, and that there is much more than meets the eye beyond the text book defintions.
