This week brings one of the biggest exterior changes my abandoned general store has had so far. The building looks dramatically different now — brighter, opened up, and completely transformed from what it’s been for decades. The old plywood is finally gone, the windows are visible again, and the fresh primer gives the whole place a new identity. Whether this shift is for better or worse is up to you. 🔗 LINKS: 🗝️ Heritage Rowe: https://www.heritagerowe.co 🌼 SUBSTACK: The Daffodil Post: https://substack.com/@emmashaye 📸 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/holistic__emma/ 🎥 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@holistic_emma 📩 Sponsorships: emmashaye@influint.co 📩 Other inquiries: efretts@gmail.com Most music in this video is by Sion Louks: https://open.spotify.com/artist/7a2Mag7TLcj23ymUB7prkJ?si=ei6b2zMxQOmxXUctf8Ghgw I spent the week priming the exterior, repairing damaged areas, and replacing the rotted window coverings with clear plexiglass to bring some light back into the structure. It’s not finished, but the difference is immediate and impossible to ignore. For anyone who’s been following this renovation from the start, this is one of those episodes where the project suddenly jumps forward and enters a bold new stage. The building feels different now, and I’m curious what you think about this direction. Thank you for being here through every step of restoring this old general store — every change, every challenge, and every unexpected turn. 00:00 Introduction 01:01 Removing old plywood 07:02 Finding something amazing! 08:14 Scraping & sanding 09:50 Priming 12:23 Installing polycarbonate 16:03 Day 2 begins, demo 17:00 Priming windows 17:54 Installing polycarbonate 18:55 Finishing priming 20:40 What do you think?
