Ever since adapting my shop cherry picker to work on back of Artie, I've been wanting to make a lighter, less awkward and cooler boom pole. Unfortunately, I didn't get any video of the build process but here it is. I didn't ask in the video but WHAT COLOR should I paint it?? White, black or Cub Cadet Orange?? I also bought a top-of-the-line Portland electric chain saw from the source of the best of the best in logging equipment, Harbor Freight. Electric chainsaws have a bad and earned reputation for having short battery life. This saw is a plug in and, obviously, it's main drawback is you have to be within extension cord distance to a plug. Artie solves that problem by bringing the plug and huge battery to the work. The saw works absolutely fantastic! I don't know how long it'll last but at $45, I could buy 6 of them for the price of one DeWalt saw. It draws 1000 Watts and Artie has a 4kWh battery pack so that means I could use it non-stop for 4 solid hours. The reality is that a non-logger uses a saw for 20-30min at a time then repositions to a new location to do it again. With use like that, this could easily work all day. Pretty cool! Thanks for watching, Bill
