Watching this video, you might come away thinking there are a lot of things that bother me about living in China—but that really isn’t the case. Overall, I absolutely love living here. These are mostly just small cultural differences and minor gripes that, after 16 years, I often barely even notice in day-to-day life. My experience here as a foreigner has been overwhelmingly positive, and a huge part of that comes down to the Chinese people themselves. The vast majority of people I meet are incredibly kind, friendly and polite, and that’s one of the biggest reasons China has felt like home for so long.
