This Guizhou hotpot in our local area has quickly become one of our go-to date night meals, and for good reason. Fresh meat and veg, loads of different soup bases—my favorite being the Guizhou-style sweet and sour—and an awesome DIY sauce station that I’m slowly learning to navigate with the help of my lovely wife. 😂 It’s also become a bit of a perfect date-night option for us because a lot of the flavors are pretty spicy, so it’s not really somewhere we’d bring the kids. That gives Nicole and me an excuse to escape for a couple of hours, enjoy something the two of us genuinely love, and have a proper meal together without having to worry about whether the kids will eat anything! 😂 There are so many different regional styles of hotpot across China, and this Guizhou version has definitely become one of my favorites. Highly recommend giving it a try if you ever come to China—or you could even get yourself a hotpot and have a go at recreating the experience at home! 🇨🇳❤️
