This local supermarket right next to our house here in China is absolute heaven on earth if you love fruit! It’s not just the wild selection they have, but the incredibly reasonable prices too. I also love that you can choose between fruit that’s already peeled, chopped and ready to eat, or buy it whole, take it home and prepare it yourself for even less. What makes it even more impressive to me is how much things have changed over the years. When I first came to China, the variety, quality and freshness of fruit available—especially in smaller cities—was nowhere near what it is today. It’s one of those everyday improvements that’s easy to overlook, but having watched it happen over the years, the difference really stands out. 🍉🍍🍓🇨🇳
