The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) still continues to reveal celestial objects whose apparent age, size, complexity and chemical composition is totally incompatible with the conjectured conditions in the so-called early Universe. JWST recently discovered Zhúlóng, a grand-design spiral galaxy at the tail-end of the cosmic dawn—12.8 billion years ago. Supposedly, this mature galaxy formed much earlier than expected—only one billion years after the Big Bang. Three tenets of the Standard Model of Cosmology to ponder... 1) The Big Bang is when the Universe began as an intense burst of energy 13.8 billion years ago 2) A massive dark matter structure is necessary to host early large-scale spiral galaxies such as Zhúlóng 3) Sizable dark matter structures don't have enough time to form a billion years after the Big Bang Institutionalized Astrophysicists play dark matter games, adding yet more epicycles to the Big Bang story, including the proposed doubling of the age of the Universe to 26 billion years old.
